1. About ETA
ETA is an electronically stored authority to travel to Australia, and is accessible by Australian border agencies, airlines and travel agents. You are required to get an E-Visitor / ETA if you wish to travel to Australia. All non-citizens require a Visa or Electronic Travel Authority to access Australia.
The bonus benefit of an ETA is that it is 100% electronic, which means that you can travel to Australia without having to go to a departmental office such as an embassy or consulate to apply for the conventional paper visa.
2. ETA Expiration
You can access Australia as many times as you wish for a period of 12 months which starts on the date that your ETA is granted, or until your passport expires.
3. ETA Requirements
You can apply for an electronic Australian ETA visa online, if:
You are from an ETA eligible country.
You are physically outside Australia when you apply.
Your trip to Australia is either for tourism, seeing family or friends, or for short-term business. Business (going to seminars,
trade fairs or conferences, provided that you are not paid by the organisers for your participation; Making general business or

Your passport must be valid for 6 months from the day you access Australia.
You can stay in Australia for a maximum of 3 months.
You must have had no major criminal convictions, in which you served more than 1 year in jail.
You must not have tuberculosis at the time of travel into, and within, Australia.
You are not allowed to work while you are in Australia.
4. ETA Eligible Countries
Only citizens from the following list of countries are eligible to apply for an online ETA.
If you are not a citizen of one of these countries, you will have to contact the Australian Mission related to the Visa department and apply for a Visitor Visa (subclass 600).
If you are from the European Union, Andorra, Monaco, San Marino or Vatican you can also apply for a E-Visitor permit in our platform.
5. ETA Application
In order to apply for an ETA, you need to have your passport, email address and a credit card to be able to complete the online application.
The details you provide in your online ETA application must be exactly the same as they appear in your passport and you need to use the same passport that is linked to your online ETA application when you travel to Australia.

6. About ETA-Evisitor
The Australian government takes at least 6 days to process visas. If you are going to travel within the next 6 days, please contact the Australian embassy in your country. The Australian government advises to start the visa request process one month prior to your trip. *The following passport holders are able to access Australia's ETA- EVisitor visa program: Andorra, Austria, Belgium, Bulgaria, Croatia, Cyprus, Czech Republic, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, France, Germany, Hungary, Iceland, Ireland, Italy, Latvia, Liechtenstein, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Malta, Monaco, Netherlands, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Republic of San Marino, Slovakia, Slovenia, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, United Kingdom, Vatican City.
7. ETA-Evisitor Application
Visit Australia for up to three months during each stay for 12 months from the date the ETA- EVisitor is received.
Go on holidays or see friends and family in Australia.
Study in Australia for up to three months in some cases.
Do business activities when you are in Australia but you must not:
Work for or give services to any company or corporation
Sell any type of service or goods
The following are allowed Business visitor activities:
Making inquiries of employment or business matters
Carry on negotiations, reviews, investigation or signing business contracts
Take part in an official government trip
Attending seminars, trade fairs, or conferences provided you do not receive payment by the organization for taking part on such events.
8. You get approved for an ETA-EVisitor
If your ETA- EVisitor request receives approval, you will receive confirmation by email informing you that it’s been granted. Please save this email and take it when you when you go to Australia, since it contains:
Your ETA- EVisitor grant number
Your ETA- EVisitor start date
The ETA- EVisitor terms
Your passport will receive no label. When checking in to fly to Australia, the airline personnel will confirm your ETA- EVisitor and passport information electronically.
9. You are not approved for an ETA- EVisitor
If your request for an ETA- EVisitor is rejected, you will receive confirmation by email informing you that your ETA- EVisitor has not been granted.
10. Duration of your ETA-EVisitor
Starting on your ETA- EVisitor grant date and for 12 months, you will be allowed to remain in Australia for a maximum of 3 months on each stay.
You will not be able to extend an ETA- EVisitor. Should you wish to extend your stay after entering Australia, you will need to apply for another visa before your current ETA- EVisitor expiry date. You might be granted another visa provided that:
Have respected yourETA- EVisitor’s terms
Meet all the required specifications of the visa you wish to apply for.
It might be required that you pass a health check if you wish to apply for a different type of visa. If a different visa is granted to you, the new visa will replace your current ETA- EVisitor and all its conditions.
If the Australian Government has not decided on your visa request before your current ETA- EVisitor expires, they might grant you a Bridging visa until your visa application has been reviewed and a has not been made on your visa application before your ETA- EVisitor ends, you might be granted a Bridging visa until they made a decision on your visa application.
If your visa application is rejected, you will need to leave Australia prior to the end of your ETA- EVisitor or your Bridging visa.
